Everything is beautiful in its own way.
Hello readers. We live in a world today, that can sometimes seem overwhelming, with bad news, crime, dirty politics, disease, heart break and heartache of every kind. No this is not a perfect world, and it never will be. These things will always exist and its just a part of life that we all have to live with and deal with on a day-to-day basis. Sometimes things just seem so discouraging to some people that they are just so miserable and sometimes find it hard to get out of bed and face the day.
Sometimes it seems that there is so much bad in the world that it can sometimes be very hard to see the beautiful things that are all around us every day. I have stated before, that attitude is everything and that keeping a positive mind and an optimistic attitude is basically the key to happiness. You don't have to be rich or be a millionaire to be happy as I think we all know. If you take the time to look around, and take a deep breath, and look real hard, you will find that it's really not so hard after all to see the beauty of life all around you.
For example. Just look up into the sky and look at the clouds, remember when you were a kid and you would look up at the clouds and make pictures out of them? Look at the trees and the greenery and the plant life. Look at the oceans, rivers and streams and mountains. Watch the children play and the smiles on the faces. Notice the wildlife around you. You may have a dog or cat, birds or fish or maybe even some horses. Take the time to admire the animals and notice their beauty.
When you were a kid you may have gotten picked on by a bully or maybe you saw other kids get picked on. I know for me, I experienced both from time to time and learned how to fight and how to stand up of the little guy who was getting picked on. I remember some kids got made fun of because they were too fat or too skinny or were told they were too dumb or just plain ugly. How sad is that. Some adults today still have that same mentality of prejudice and the same immature attitude they had as children. I believe that with age a sense of maturity and responsibility and wisdom is a part of natural human development.
I believe that if each and every one of us would take the time every day to relax and be thankful for what we have and take the time to see the beauty of the world and the beauty of the people in it, the world would be a better place, and you as an individual would be richer and happier for noticing the beauty around you. Peace.

I had to come back to also comment on your writing that prejudice is basically adult bullying. It is, and that is why I so often favor the underdog. I was bullied all the way through the public school system, and it took me years to overcome the insecurity it produced. Given the love of my family, I do not believe I ever would have used drugs or gone down that path if bullying and scapegoating had not been such a major part of my childhood in the public school system. Bullying by both adults and kids is seen today from My Space videos to prison inmate abuse. It is a sad state of affairs that some people are so unhappy and angry or otherwise misguided that instead of smelling the flowers as you suggest, they impose pain on others. I love the teachings of Jesus and the compassion with which he handled others. Again, good hub, but I wanted to say more. (:v

Yes, everything is beautiful in its own way. As you know from my garden and poetry hubs I live in the forest on the side of a mountain. I don' t have a car and that is fine with me. When things get me down all I have to do is look out my french doors and windows and watch how beautiful nature is. The birds and squirrels never stop or worry about where their next meal will come from. They just keep on going...season to season to season.
